Payroll Administration With Clear Controls
Ahmed Mahfoudh Chartered Accountants & Auditors has more than 13 years of UAE financial experience. We treat payroll as a controlled monthly process, not only a salary calculation. Our Abu Dhabi payroll support brings together authorised employee data, approved changes, calculations, payment-file preparation, and financial reporting. We work with the employer’s HR and finance contacts to confirm the monthly inputs before processing. This gives management a record of what changed, who approved it, and how the final payroll amount was calculated.
Payroll Needs A Proper Cutoff
Most payroll mistakes begin when salary changes, leave, or deductions are sent after the calculation has already started.
We validate changes before calculation
We use an agreed monthly payroll cutoff and review authorised changes before calculating salaries. New hires, leavers, salary revisions, leave, overtime, commissions, deductions, and bank-detail changes should be supported by the employer’s approved records before they enter the payroll file.
We keep payroll and records connected
The payroll register, payslips, WPS-ready salary file, leave records, and accounting journal should reconcile to the same approved payroll data. We prepare these outputs from one controlled process so finance and HR are not working from conflicting payroll figures.
We flag exceptions before payment
Unusual net-pay movements, missing employee details, negative leave balances, duplicate entries, and unapproved deductions are identified for employer confirmation. The employer retains responsibility for authorising payments and employment decisions, while we provide the calculation and supporting payroll records.

Payroll Outsourcing Questions In Abu Dhabi
Key answers on WPS, employee records, salary timing, gratuity, final settlements, payroll costs, and employer responsibilities.
What does payroll outsourcing include?
Payroll outsourcing can include employee data checks, salary calculations, WPS file preparation, payslips, leave adjustments, payroll registers, end-of-service schedules, and accounting reports. The employer remains responsible for approving payroll and making employment decisions.
What is the UAE WPS?
The Wage Protection System is an electronic salary-transfer system used for eligible private-sector employees in the UAE. Salary data is submitted through approved banks, exchange houses, or financial institutions before payment is made.
When must salaries be paid?
Under UAE WPS rules, wages are generally treated as delayed when they have not been paid within 15 days of the agreed due date. The employment contract and salary cycle establish the due date used for payroll planning.
Which employers use WPS?
WPS applies to employers and employees covered by the UAE private-sector labour framework, subject to applicable exemptions. Employers should confirm their Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation registration and bank or exchange-house arrangement before payroll is processed.
How is end-of-service gratuity calculated?
For eligible employees under the UAE Labour Relations Law, gratuity is generally calculated at 21 days’ basic wage for each of the first five years of service and 30 days’ basic wage for each additional year. The total is capped at two years’ wage.
When is final settlement due?
UAE employers must generally pay wages and other employee entitlements within 14 days of the employment contract ending. Final settlement calculations should include approved leave, deductions, outstanding salary, and applicable end-of-service benefits.
Are there payroll taxes in the UAE?
The UAE does not impose a federal personal income tax on employee salaries. Employers may still have payroll obligations under labour law, WPS, pension schemes where applicable, employment contracts, and internal policies.
Can you process payroll changes mid-month?
Yes, where the employer provides authorised supporting records before the agreed cutoff. A mid-month salary change, leave adjustment, or deduction must be assessed against the payroll period and employee entitlement before it is included.
Can you prepare payroll journals?
Yes. We can prepare payroll journals for salaries, allowances, deductions, leave provisions, and end-of-service accruals based on the payroll register. Finance should reconcile the payroll journal to the approved monthly payroll output.
How is payroll outsourcing priced?
Fees depend on employee headcount, payroll frequency, WPS requirements, number of entities, variable-pay items, leave administration, and final-settlement activity. A monthly payroll with overtime, commissions, or frequent staff changes needs more review than fixed-salary processing.
