Industries We Serve
Accounting, VAT & Payroll for Restaurants & F&B Businesses in the UAE
Restaurants, cafes and cloud kitchens deal with daily cash, delivery apps, food costs that change every week and staff working in shifts. We turn that activity into accurate books, correct VAT returns and reports that show where your margin goes.
Overview
Accounting That Understands Restaurants
Your POS shows what you sold, but not what you earned. Delivery platforms deduct commissions, card terminals deduct fees, ingredients get wasted, and service charges and tips need the right VAT treatment. Without proper accounting, a busy restaurant can still lose money.
SAS Partners works with single outlets, cloud kitchens and multi-brand F&B groups across Dubai and the UAE. We reconcile daily sales across every channel, track food and beverage costs, run payroll for shift teams and keep VAT and Corporate Tax compliant.
Common Challenges
What F&B Owners Tell Us
- Many payment channels: cash, cards, wallets and several delivery apps, each settling on different days and net of fees.
- Food cost: supplier prices change weekly, and without recipe costing it is hard to know which dishes make money.
- Service charges and tips: uncertainty over which amounts carry VAT.
- Payroll: shift workers, overtime and end-of-service gratuity calculated by hand.
- Multiple outlets: no consolidated view of performance across branches or brands.
- Cash control: daily cash differences that are never investigated.

Key Rules for Restaurants in the UAE
- VAT at 5% applies to food and beverages served by restaurants, and menu prices shown to customers should include VAT.
- Mandatory service charges kept by the business form part of the taxable value and carry VAT. Voluntary tips passed in full to staff are generally outside the scope of VAT.
- VAT registration is mandatory once taxable supplies exceed AED 375,000 over 12 months.
- Corporate Tax applies at 9% on taxable income above AED 375,000. Small Business Relief is available to eligible businesses with revenue up to AED 3 million for tax periods ending on or before 31 December 2029.
- E-invoicing: The UAE e-invoicing system becomes mandatory in phases: businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more from 1 January 2027, and all other businesses from 1 July 2027. Each business must appoint an accredited service provider before its deadline.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is VAT charged on a restaurant service charge?
A mandatory service charge that the restaurant keeps is part of the price and carries VAT at 5%. Voluntary tips passed fully to staff are generally outside the scope of VAT.
How do you handle delivery app commissions?
We record sales at their full value, record commissions and fees as expenses, and reconcile each settlement to the platform report so nothing is missing from revenue or VAT.
Can you calculate food cost by dish?
Yes. Using your recipes and supplier prices, we calculate dish costs and gross margin and update them as prices change.
Do you run payroll for restaurant staff?
Yes. We process payroll through WPS, calculate overtime and end-of-service gratuity, and keep records ready for labour inspections.
