Numbers That Match Operations

Get accounting reports that reflect projects, products, sites, fleets, outlets, and stock instead of one unexplained monthly total.

Clearer Cost Visibility

Direct costs, overhead, inventory, freight, labour, and project spending are recorded against the activity that created them.

Better Margin Decisions

Management can review profitability by product, project, site, customer, route, outlet, or business unit rather than relying only on total revenue.

Faster Operational Follow-Up

Current reports help managers investigate cost overruns, stock differences, overdue claims, and underperforming locations before month-end pressure builds.

Stronger Reporting Structure

A consistent coding and reconciliation process gives finance and operations teams a shared basis for reviewing performance across multiple activities.

Sharjah Industry Accounting Practice

Ahmed Mahfoudh Chartered Accountants & Auditors brings more than 13 years of UAE financial experience to businesses where standard bookkeeping is not enough. I organize the accounting around the real operating unit: a product, project, warehouse, fleet, outlet, batch, or site. That means setting up records that can answer useful questions about cost, margin, inventory, work in progress, and performance. The process starts with the documents and systems your team already uses, then builds a reporting structure that finance and operations can both understand and maintain.

How Industry Accounts Are Built

The common mistake is using one general ledger for every activity, then trying to explain costs only after the month closes.

AMC Sami Abdallah Partners team
Costs are linked to operations

The accounting structure connects spending to the activity that created it, such as a project code, stock item, warehouse, route, outlet, cost centre, or production stage. This makes it easier to identify where margin is being earned or lost.

Allocation methods are documented

Shared costs such as rent, salaries, transport, utilities, and overhead cannot be assigned casually. The allocation basis is agreed, documented, and applied consistently so reports do not change simply because a different person prepared them.

Reports are checked against source records

Management reports are supported by reconciliations to bank records, stock data, project schedules, supplier balances, sales records, and payroll information where relevant. A margin report is only useful when the underlying costs and revenue are complete.

Industry Accounting Questions Answered

The practical questions to settle before setting up accounting around your operating model.

Which industries do you support?

Support can cover manufacturing, construction, trading, distribution, logistics, hospitality, and pharmaceutical distribution. The scope is based on the business model, transaction flow, inventory, projects, locations, and reporting requirements rather than the industry name alone.

What is manufacturing cost accounting?

Manufacturing cost accounting tracks direct materials, direct labour, production overhead, work in progress, finished goods, and cost of sales. Under IAS 2, inventory cost includes costs of purchase, conversion, and other costs incurred to bring inventory to its present location and condition.

Can you handle project accounting?

Yes. Project accounting can track cost codes, subcontractors, labour, materials, variations, progress claims, retention, and work in progress by project. Revenue recognition must follow the contract terms and applicable reporting requirements, including IFRS 15 where relevant.

What are landed costs?

Landed costs are costs associated with bringing purchased goods to the business, such as purchase price, freight, customs duty, insurance, and handling where applicable. These costs affect inventory value and the margin reported when goods are sold.

Can reports be prepared by location?

Yes. Reporting can be structured by warehouse, branch, outlet, project, route, customer segment, cost centre, or product line. Each location or activity needs consistent account codes and source records for the comparison to be meaningful.

How do you track slow-moving inventory?

Inventory reports can be reviewed by last movement date, sales history, batch, expiry date, warehouse location, and value. Slow-moving or obsolete stock may need separate review because physical quantity alone does not determine recoverable value.

Does industry accounting support VAT?

Yes. Industry accounting organizes sales, purchases, imports, expenses, and supporting invoices needed for VAT review. VAT registration becomes mandatory when taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 over the previous 12 months or are expected to exceed that amount within 30 days.

Does it support Corporate Tax records?

Yes. Industry-level records help support financial statements, taxable income calculations, and return figures. Relevant Corporate Tax records must generally be retained for at least seven years after the end of the relevant tax period.

How is industry accounting priced?

Fees depend on transaction volume, number of projects or locations, inventory complexity, systems used, reporting frequency, record condition, and tax or audit support required. A single-site trading business has a different scope from a manufacturer with stock, production stages, and multiple warehouses.
