Books That Survive an Audit
Most accounting problems start months before anyone notices them.
Audit-Ready Records
Your financials follow IFRS from the first entry, so external auditors find organised files instead of missing schedules.
Real-Time Visibility
Monthly management accounts land by the 10th -- you see cash position, margins, and receivables aging while the numbers still matter.
Tax-Aligned Entries
Every transaction is coded for VAT and the 9% corporate tax regime from day one, not reclassified under deadline pressure.
Lower Correction Costs
A misposting caught in the same month costs a fraction of one discovered six months later during year-end close.
No Knowledge Walkouts
Your chart of accounts, processes, and documentation sit with us -- if a staff member leaves, nothing leaves with them.

Accountants Who Read Ledgers Daily
Ahmed Mahfoudh Chartered Accountants & Auditors is a Dubai-based practice registered with the UAE Ministry of Economy. Our accounting team works in IFRS every day, not as an annual exercise. We handle books for mainland LLCs, free zone entities, and foreign branch offices across trading, services, and contracting sectors. Every engagement is led by a chartered accountant, not delegated to unsupervised juniors. When your auditor arrives, the file is already organised.
How the Accounting Actually Works
Most firms quote a monthly fee and then treat your books as a batch job on the 25th.
Your Books Close by the 10th
We reconcile and close the prior month within ten calendar days. That means your management accounts land while the numbers are still useful for decisions, not three weeks after the fact when you have already moved on.
A Named Accountant Owns Your File
You get one accountant who knows your chart of accounts, your suppliers, and your recurring entries. When you call with a question, they already have context. No support tickets, no explaining your business from scratch each time.
We Work Inside Your Software
QuickBooks, Zoho, Xero, Tally -- we log into your system and work there. You see entries as they post. No spreadsheets emailed back and forth, no version confusion, no month-end surprises.
VAT and Corporate Tax Built Into Every Entry
Every transaction is coded for FTA reporting from the start. When filing season arrives, the numbers are already categorised. Nobody is reclassifying six months of entries the week before a deadline.
Errors Get a Memo, Not Just a Correction
When we find a misposting or a duplicate, we fix it and send a one-paragraph note explaining what happened and what changed. You always know what moved in your books and why.
We Hand Over Clean Files
If you ever switch accountants, you get an organised chart of accounts, a documented process sheet, and a trial balance that ties. No firm should hold your records hostage, and we do not.
Your Accounting Team
Chartered accountants and IFRS specialists who work on your books every month.

Accounting Engagement Questions
What clients ask before signing an accounting engagement letter.
What accounting software do you work in?
QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Xero, Tally, and most cloud platforms. If you already use one, we log into your instance. If you are starting fresh, we recommend based on your transaction volume and multi-currency needs.
How fast can you bring backlog books current?
For a new client with a backlog, we typically clear three to six months of catch-up within two to four weeks, depending on volume. Once current, books close monthly by the 10th.
Do you file VAT returns as well?
We prepare the VAT accounting entries and reconcile them to FTA return categories. Filing the return itself is a separate engagement. Many clients bundle both, but you can keep filing in-house if you prefer.
What does a monthly engagement cost?
Fees depend on transaction volume, number of bank accounts, and whether payroll is included. A trading company with 200 monthly transactions and two bank accounts sits in a different range than a consultancy with 40 invoices. We quote after reviewing a sample month.
Do free zone companies need accounting?
Yes. Free zone authorities require audited financial statements for licence renewal. The 9% corporate tax also applies to free zone entities on non-qualifying income. Proper books are not optional regardless of your zone.
What happens if the FTA audits us?
We attend alongside you. Because we coded every entry to FTA categories from the start, the supporting schedules, invoices, and reconciliations are already organised. Most of our clients clear FTA reviews without adjustments.
Is corporate tax accounting included?
The 9% corporate tax regime requires specific adjustments: exempt income, disallowed expenses, related-party transactions. We handle these entries as part of year-end closing. Transfer pricing documentation, if needed, is scoped separately.
Can we switch accountants mid-year?
Yes. We take over from your current books as of any month-end. We need your latest trial balance, bank statements, and access to your accounting software. Transition usually takes one to two weeks.
How long must we retain financial records?
UAE law requires you to retain financial records for at least seven years after the end of the relevant tax period. We maintain digital copies of all journals, ledgers, and supporting documents. Keep original invoices, contracts, and bank statements on your end as well.
Can you prepare financials for investors or banks?
We prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements suitable for investor review, bank facility applications, and regulatory filings. If a full audit is required, we prepare the audit file and coordinate with the external auditor.
How do you handle multi-currency transactions?
Each foreign-currency transaction is recorded at the exchange rate on the transaction date. Month-end revaluation entries adjust open balances to the closing rate. Exchange gains or losses are reported separately in your P&L.
What if we only need quarterly reporting?
We can structure engagements around quarterly closes. The trade-off is that errors compound over three months instead of one and your cash flow visibility lags. Most clients with more than 100 monthly transactions find monthly closing worth the difference in cost.
What are the penalties for late corporate tax filing?
Late registration carries an AED 10,000 penalty. Late filing or payment incurs AED 500 per month for the first 12 months, then AED 1,000 per month after that. Proper monthly accounting keeps you from scrambling at the nine-month filing deadline.
Do we need audited financials?
Mainland LLCs must appoint an auditor and file audited statements. Most free zones require audited financials for licence renewal, typically within six months of year-end. We prepare the full audit file so the process runs without delays.
